SAMIA DUMBUYA
Co-Chair of UK Youth Delegation
Samia Dumbuya (she/they) is a climate justice advocate who focuses on upskilling and educating young people and marginalised communities in the UK to be active climate changemakers. They are currently studying MSc Sustainable Resources: Economics, Policy and Transitions at UCL, researching methods to build equitable and decolonial pathways towards sustainable development for all. They are also a researcher for The Wildlife Trusts and Uprising, supporting their research to understand young people’s connection to nature. For the past 8 years, they have been facilitating workshops dedicated to climate education to ensure young people understand the significance of how the climate crisis and the deterioration of the environment impact their lives and other people’s lives. Their clients have included: Complicité Theatre company, Oxford University, Samsung, The Natural History Museum, Friends of the Earth Europe, local London authorities and similar organisations using youth engagement as a tool to upskill tomorrow’s leaders. Within the past year, they have engaged with over 30 organisations supporting them with building holistic strategies to increase community engagement.
Samia has recently been made a BeVisioneers Fellow, which is a programme run by The Do School in Berlin supported by Mercedes-Benz working on a youth-led green skills hub, supporting young people to be a part of the green transition.
Samia uses community engagement as a tool to create space for people to imagine climate-just futures for all and take action on a local level.
Co-Chair of UK Youth Delegation
Kayley is a production coordinator working in Unscripted TV in Northern Ireland. She has a passion for sustainability and has previously attended COP27 as part of the FLN team. She has been awarded a full scholarship to undertake the 'Key Essentials: The Wealth Economy, Sustainable Development and the Law' course through the University of Cambridge and was recognised as a '25 under 25' recipient in 2024 through Common Purpose.
Kayley has previously empowered young leaders from across Europe to take action on climate issues as a facilitator on the NICE programme, a trans-Europe project which teaches students to use entrepreneurship to solve the SDGs. She is a firm advocate for empowering young people to have a voice in decision-making and is currently the co-chair of the Sutton Trust Alumni Leadership Board.
Kayley is looking forward to representing the views and needs of the UK's young people on a global level at COP29 and ensuring that their voices are heard at the top table. She would be delighted to hear from young people across the UK on what their policy priorities are for COP29 and what changes the UK government should introduce in its climate legislation.

A final-year Politics and International Relations student at Durham University, Megan is driven by a commitment to global impact and aspires to become a diplomat. She gained valuable insights through a political internship in Saint Lucia, engaging with high-level stakeholders, and currently manages the Climate and Environment desk at Durham’s Diplomat Society, promoting climate awareness. Her role as Netball Social Secretary inspired a keen interest in events coordination. Megan enjoys traveling, yoga, and supporting Welsh rugby.

Marta is an Imperial College London PhD candidate with BSc and MSc degrees from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). She has worked as a researcher and consultant for UCL, King’s College London, LSE, Oxford University, UN-Habitat, UNDP and UNESCO, focusing on sustainability, digital innovation and international development, and published in International Affairs and Science of the Total Environment journals and written for the IISD SDG Knowledge Hub and International Maritime Organization.

Charlotte grew up in a multicultural home which is reflected in her passion for cultural diplomacy and international development. Her desire to travel led to her love for the Pacific, engaging in internships and volunteering in the region to further sustainable development in hybrid environments of sport and youth work. There, she was able to see first-hand the impact climate change has on its victims and the communities that are left to bear the consequences and burdens of the global superpowers. She believes that providing a platform to those who don’t have one, uniting voices and bringing people together with a common desire to change the future is a huge step in the right direction!

Evie is a climate policy professional based in Australia, with consulting experience at the World Bank in climate fiscal policy and expertise in renewable energy transitions. She is dedicated to advancing climate action in developing countries and champions a just global transition. Passionate about the power of young people to drive change, Evie serves as a Remote Research Delegate, committed to amplifying youth voices and advancing ambitious climate policy at COP29.

Muna Yassin is a passionate advocate for social change and a recent graduate with a BA in International Relations. Excited to be a UK Youth Delegate, she aims to deepen her understanding of global affairs by engaging with stakeholders and young people to shape impactful policy changes. With a strong academic foundation in politics and law, her involvement with organisations like the Future Leaders Network and The Borgen Project showcases her commitment to creating a more equitable and engaged world.

Tom is an energy lawyer and climate and mental health advocate based in London. He completed his BA at King’s College London and the National University of Singapore before studying International Relations at the University of Cambridge. He is a member of the Association of International Energy Negotiators and Cambridge Middle East and North Africa Forum’s Young Leaders Initiative, and was the UK’s youth delegate for Green Economy at the 2023 ASEAN+ Summit in Jakarta.

My name is Dani, and I am a recent Marine Environmental Management graduate from the University of Exeter, originally from the Cayman Islands. Through my internship with my Department of Environment, I gained a passion for sea turtle conservation and research. Representing Cayman at COP28, I discussed the link between culture, heritage, and climate change, and the lack of climate finance for British Overseas Territories. I aim to promote environmental awareness, sustainable development, and regional collaboration for a better future.

Originally from Egypt, Hur is a filmmaker and media advocate with a BA Hons in Film with a year in Television and Online Broadcasting from the University of Kent. Driven by a passion for storytelling as a tool for social change, Hur has collaborated on numerous projects with charities and companies to create impactful content that captures and amplifies the voices of those who are often unheard. Her work has taken her to places like Honduras and Greece, where she documented the challenges faced by refugees and underserved communities on medical brigades.
Through her experience in both documentary filmmaking and broadcasting, Hur has developed a unique approach to visual storytelling, creating narratives that resonate with empathy and depth. Now serving as a Media Ambassador, she is dedicated to advocating for marginalized voices and raising awareness of critical social issues. Hur looks forward to partnering with individuals and organizations that share her mission of using media as a platform for change, creating content that sheds light on overlooked realities and empowers communities.
