Melody Stephen

Head Delegate, Innovation and Digital Transformation delegate
Melody Stephen is a law with International studies graduate currently training to become a lawyer. She previously served as General Secretary of the University of Manchester Students’ Union as well as the Board of Governors of the University of Manchester. She has a strong passion for creating and promoting policies that pursue Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion in Higher Education and has worked to combat the rise in sexual violence and spiking with local policymakers in Manchester, as well as advocating for better mental health and neurodiversity provisions in Higher Education. As a law student she has worked to promote the same values as President of Urban Lawyers North and currently as Head of Mini pupillage at Bridging the Bar, organisations which both aim to tackle underrepresentation in the legal sector. She is dedicated to crafting strategic change for young people locally and nationally, previously as a Director on the board of the National Union Students and currently on the board of UCAS and UCAS media, and the British Youth Council. She is looking forward to putting her experience to use at a crucial time for young people in the UK. Her policy track is one of her passions and an important conversation now for all young people internationally and domestically.

Ozzy Barker

Inclusion and Equal Opportunities Delegate
Ozzy is a final year International Relations student at the University of Birmingham, Ozzy is passionate in the field of politics, community development, and social mobility. Starting from the age of 14, Ozzy has amassed over 8 years’ experience within non-profit, public sector and consultancy roles alongside his studies. Ranging from Head coach at social mobility Charity Coach Bright, Political consultant intern at The Advance Group, and Community development assistant at NEST. Ozzy grew up in one of the most deprived areas in the UK to a single mother on welfare, however, he managed to beat the odds and become the only individual in his year group to obtain a place at a Russel group university. Fuelled by his upbringing and experience, last year he founded his own social mobility charity ENDS which aims to empower and develop young people from working class backgrounds like his own. This passion for equality and equal opportunity motivated him to apply for the UK’s Y7 delegation. Ozzy is honoured to represent the UK as their Y7 equality and equal opportunities delegate, and is thrilled to represent the UK’s vision and voice for equality and equal opportunities on behalf of young people in the UK. Furthermore, Ozzy looks forward to collaborating with young people from across the Y7 delegations and beyond. To learn, engage, and work towards making meaningful policy impact towards a more equitable, and just future for us all.

Folu Ogunyeye

New Skills, Entrepreneurship, and the Future of Work Delegate
Folu is a social impact consulting analyst at The Social Investment Consultancy (TSIC). In this role, she supports foundations, charities, and impact investors to evaluate their impact and develop equitable and inclusive strategies. Prior to her current role, Folu worked in philanthropic consulting in the U.S., where she developed strategic recommendations for large foundations to address issues such as workforce development, racial equity, and economic mobility. Folu currently sits on the board of trustees at SIEVEMK Gateway, a community-based nonprofit that provides affordable tuition, mentorship and scholarship opportunities to young people in her hometown of Milton Keynes. She holds a BA from the University of Cambridge in Human, Social, and Political Sciences and will matriculate at Harvard Business School for her MBA in 2025 after receiving early admission as an undergraduate student. At Cambridge, Folu founded a social enterprise providing online careers support to disadvantaged students, which was selected for the 2020/21 Innovate UK Young Innovators Award. As a volunteer at the Cambridge Development Initiative, Folu spent a summer in Dar es Salaam working alongside Tanzanian students to provide entrepreneurial resources to young people. With her previous experience as a Member of the UK Youth Parliament, Folu is looking forward to representing young people’s interests on an international scale as the UK’s Y7 New Skills, Entrepreneurship, and the Future of Work Delegate. She hopes to work alongside other delegates to ensure that the G7 countries agree on concrete steps to improve young people’s economic futures in this challenging climate.
