The Future Leaders Network is seeking a delegation of five talented young people to represent the United Kingdom at the Y7 Summit in Tokyo, Japan.
About the Y7 Summit
The Y7 Summit is a global gathering of future leaders from the G7 nations, that seeks to generate policy recommendations through pragmatic and evidence-based negotiation.
Delegates to the Summit will be expected to negotiate a communiqué that will be officially presented to the Japanese Government and G7 Leaders. In order to increase the effectiveness of the Summit, delegates will also participate in online 'pre-negotiations' throughout April with the other Y7 delegates.
The 2016 Summit's agenda includes four key topics for discussion:
1. Migration, Refugees and Demographic Change
2. Sustainable Development
3. International Security and Counterterrorism
4. Singularity and Information Technology
We are looking for five talented young people to form the British delegation, consisting of one leader and four specialists with strong and sophisticated knowledge in the proposed agenda topics. The leader is responsible for delegation coordination, negotiation of the final communiqué and represents the British delegation to policy-makers both at home and internationally. Each specialist engages in initial negotiations with their counterparts from the other 6 nations, representing the views of young people in the United Kingdom.
The 2016 Y7 Summit will take place in Tokyo, Japan, from April 30th to May 4th.
There are no participation fees. The Japanese Government will cover up to five nights accommodation, meals and airport transfers for all official Y7 Summit delegates. Delegates are responsible for their international travel, transit costs, and travel insurance.
