Introduction

The Future Leaders Network is excited to be recruiting for a new (volunteer) Deputy Lead for the network in Wales. Over the past 18 months, a community network of future leaders has been developed, leading to good representation of young people from Wales in several and varied leadership roles. The new Deputy Lead will support the network to take bigger and bolder steps to further build and maintain a strong and beneficial network for future leaders in Wales.

Mae Rhwydwaith Arweinwyr y Dyfodol yn gyffrous i fod yn recriwtio ar gyfer Dirprwy Arweinydd (gwirfoddol) newydd ar gyfer y rhwydwaith yng Nghymru. Dros y 18 mis diwethaf, datblygwyd rhwydwaith cymunedol o arweinwyr y dyfodol, gan arwain at gynrychiolaeth dda o bobl ifanc o Gymru mewn sawl rôl arweinyddiaeth amrywiol. Bydd y Dirprwy Arweinydd newydd yn cefnogi'r rhwydwaith i gymryd camau mawr a mwy hyderus i adeiladu a chynnal rhwydwaith gadarn a buddiol ar gyfer arweinwyr y dyfodol yng Nghymru.

Future Leaders Network Wales – (Volunteer) Deputy Lead 

Title: Network Deputy Lead 

Responsible to: Network Wales Lead

Base: Home based

Time commitment: Up to 3 hours a week / flexible

This is an unpaid voluntary position.

Role Description

The role of the Wales Deputy Lead of the Wales Future Leaders Network is to support the Wales Lead in the overall direction, management, and administration of all aspects of the Network’s operations, including its events, sessions, networking opportunities, workshop delivery, and programmes. 

The Deputy Lead is expected to be committed to the growth of the network in terms of its membership, outreach, and potential, and will volunteer alongside the Lead to ensure that the network remains on track to achieve these objectives. 

The Deputy Lead will support the creation of a management team to ensure a high performing and effective Network which stays true to the UK Future Leaders Network programme and vision, while also being tailored to the specific characteristics of the Wales Future Leaders Network. 

We are looking for an individual with

• Strong and demonstrable alignment with Future Leaders Network’s core vision and mission.

• Strong communication skills, able to work closely with other members of the leadership team in Wales and across the UK 

• Comfortable supporting projects remotely, utilising resources in the most efficient way 

• Ability to effectively prioritise tasks amidst conflicting deadlines and priorities.

• An understanding of the importance of bilingualism in Wales and a commitment to expanding the use of Welsh with the Wales Future Leaders Network. Welsh language skills desirable, not essential.

You will need to be available for interview on either 12 or 13 July and we hope to invite the successful applicant to take up their post from the 17 July 2021.
